Rant

Hypocrisy I, as a vegetarian, hear most days.

“I’m an animal lover.” Is one of the most annoying, if there is nothing stopping you from going vegetarian or vegan (financial/health problems) except from your taste buds, please don’t say this.

“Eating bugs is disgusting.” The colour carmine, cochineal or E120 is made from crushed beetles, this goes in to a lot of pink or red coloured food, sweets and drinks.

“Eating horse-meat is cruel.” Horse meat is often combined (along with beef and pork), into food as an edible glue, to stick the ingredients together.

“Eating cats, dogs *insert another domesticated animal/highly thought of animal/pet here* is cruel!” All animals value their life, all animals wish to live a happy life, regardless of their species.

“Wearing fur is cruel, but leather is a by-product, so it’s fine to wear it.” True, wearing fur is cruel, but wearing leather is also incredibly cruel. The meat industry receives a large amount of funding from the leather industry, it isn’t a wasted bi-product in any means.

“I’m against hunting.” Again, if you eat meat, please don’t say this.

“Animals used in circuses get cared for extremely well, and are always happy.” Need I say what is wrong with this? Animals being exploited for financial benefits, who get abused in the process are not happy animals.

That’s an UMBILICAL CORD. This is a tiny baby, torn from its mother, now left to die alone and scared.
Enjoying your bacon? You are SUPPORTING this practice when you put your money into the industry’s hands. Does this picture make you feel something?
